1 - The Law of Divine Oneness
This law states that all things are connected. That is all things. ALL. I know it seems a little redundant to keep repeating the word “all” but it is really something important to grasp. When we first say something like “everything is connected” it’s very easy to have a perfect vision of nature, family, friends, love, sunshine, butterflies and a multitude of other positive images. However, it’s not just the positive, perfect, conceptual aspect of things or some things, only the things we like or feel connected to but everything including that which we dislike.
How connected do you feel to your opponents in many realms of modern life, such as competing co-workers, the ‘other’ sports team, the ‘other’ political party, a criminal, an abuser, an aggressor, a psychopath? At some point, in the core of everyone & everything there is a universal beauty, whether it’s the alignment of cells or the fragility of the ego, the sorrow, or the mastery. What we all do affects all of us and there is a hum of interconnectedness if only we choose to listen.
Meditation/contemplation:
How can I honour that which I dislike, or to which I feel disconnected, while maintaining my integrity, values, and optimism? How might I learn to connect, accept, respect, forgive, love all those situations and people I don’t agree with?
